What We Actually Do in a Branding Workshops (Spoiler: It’s Not Just Pretty Moodboards)

There’s a misconception we meet all the time: “designers have a magic wand or are mind readers.” That ideas just magically appear in our heads, that color palettes are intuition, that typography selection is pure instinct, and that moodboards simply fall from the sky in perfect harmony.

And really, we wish.

The truth is that what we do is creative, yes — but not magic. We believe that creating is actually understanding, and understanding comes from connection.

Before we design, we meet with you to understand better the behind of your brand. We have long conversations, hours of research, discussions, pauses, stories, confessions. They’re deep listening — the kind where you forget you’re in a meeting.

The workshop is where the brand reveals itself

We ask questions that go beyond the product. We explore the founder’s mindset, fears, ambitions, tone of voice, worldview, personality. We don’t just take notes — we read between them.

In a workshop, we watch how someone speaks when they’re excited, when they hesitate, when something feels true. We listen to the words they repeat without realizing. We notice their smile when they talk about why they started, their eyes when they talk about something they are passionate about. We don’t design for people, we design with them.

That’s why our workshops feel less like formal sessions and more like conversations with friends.

Relaxed.

Honest.

Human.

Connected.

A client once called it “creative therapy session” and it stuck

After one of our Your WHY workshops, a client said something that has stayed with us ever since:

“This feels like creative therapy. You know me in a way I didn’t even know myself.”

He told us we made him explore ideas he never articulated, that we pulled out a side of him that he never thought it existed. He called us creative psychologists, and instead of laughing it off, we embraced it, because that’s exactly what we want workshops to be:  a safe place to unpack creativity, identity, and direction. Not therapy in the clinical sense, but therapy in the space of unlocking what someone is but hasn’t been able to communicate.

That became part of our identity as a studio. Something we’re proud of, something we intentionally nurture.

So no, our workshops aren’t just moodboards

It’s where:

  • The brand’s voice is discovered

  • The founder feels seen and reflected

  • The WHY becomes clear

  • The creative direction stops being abstract

  • We connect on a human level

Design happens after, but clarity happens here.

Workshops don’t magically create ideas, they uncover the right ones.

We don't have magic wands and wave them around. We’re listening and connect deeply and most of the time, that’s even more magical.
