Built Over Voice Notes & Coffee: Our Honest Origin Story

Every studio has a beginning — some start with big plans, formal launches, pitch decks, and strategies. Ours didn’t, lol. Osea was born the way good ideas often are: one conversation during lunch hour in our old job, one voice note with a “¿te animás?” I have a client, and we make a great team.

We knew each other from our previous job where we worked on brandings for other clients and learnt a lot about the industry, pressure, and deadlines. It was a constant creative replay on copying what other studios where doing, not being heard and the well know phrase from our boss "Add more design." We swore we’d never repeat in our own work: You know the kind — more color, more shapes, more fill, more everything. As if good branding was about piling visuals instead of building meaning.

We laughed about it then. It annoyed us then, and in all honesty — it actually shaped us.

The beginning was simple and messy in the best way

One day, one of us asked the other if she wanted to work on a project together. No business plan. No official launch. Just curiosity, excitement, and a feeling of possibility.

That project became the first one for us, not for someone else or at another studio. Something small, intimate, personal — a spark. From there, things didn’t suddenly explode. We grew slowly, with effort, long talks, and longer coffees, longer nights.

We learned by doing, by trying, by failing a little and laughing a lot. We figured out who we wanted to be, not based on trends, but on experience, ideas, and the way we want people to feel when they work with us.

We’re still learning. Still growing. Still evolving. And that’s what keeps the studio alive.

What Osea stands for today

Instead of “more design,” we believe in intentional design. We don’t just deliver files — we build understanding. We meet with clients to guide them through decisions, not overwhelm them with choices and visuals.

We created guides with tips for giving better feedback because collaborative work is better when everyone speaks the same language.

Branding isn't decoration. It’s clarity, identity, alignment, meaning.

We want our clients to feel part of the process — not lost in it.

So we design visually, but we also teach, accompany, question, refine, because a brand isn’t just something you see — it’s something you feel and understand.

From two designers in a 9 to 5 agency, to Osea Studio

We never set out to build a “big” studio. We set out to build a feel good one. One rooted in honesty. A studio that respects ideas, where design is not a layer on top — but the expression of a well–built foundation, and that first spontaneous voice note? It’s the seed of everything we are today.

Conversations.

Laughter.

Frustrations.

Growth.

We’re proud of where we started and even more excited for where we’re going, because Osea wasn’t built with a business plan or in an office. It was built over voice notes & coffee, but in all honesty we think it might have been over a few glasses of wine.
